Delaunay Class Letter – 7th October 2016
This week the children have been looking at lots of different poems by Michael Rosen. We have talked about why we like Michael Rosen and what makes him so interesting. We have looked further at selected poems and recorded the reasons why we enjoy them in our books.
Next week we will carry on looking at Michael Rosen’s fantastic poems and start to notice rhyming words and punctuation used in the text.
This week the children have worked really hard to learn their number bonds to 10. They have recognized how to count on the numberline or their fingers to find them and have investigated all the ways to make ten with numicon!
Next week we will focus on 2D shapes. We will identify different 2D shapes and think about their properties by describing how many sides and corners they have. The children will follow a carousel of shape activities such as making 2D shapes using peg boards, geoboards and sorting shapes.
Next week the children will also undertake their Autumn term maths assessment in small groups with Lauren.
