Delaunay Class Letter – 16th December 2016

  • Delaunay class took part in the EYFS/KS1 Christmas show on Tuesday morning. Thanks to everyone who came to see their performance. I think it is safe to say everyone thought they looked and sounded amazing. Well done Delaunay class!
  • Delaunay class will have a Christmas party on Tuesday next week! It would be lovely if you could bring in some tasty snacks. There is a list on the classroom door, please sign next to something you are able to bring along.
  • The last day of term is Wednesday 21st Please note the children will leave school at 1.30pm.
  • The first day back at school next year is Wednesday 4th

The children have been learning positional language this week. They ran races and talked about what position they came in the race. They have also used language to describe where toys are hidden around the classroom. They used words such as to the left or right, behind, next to, above etc.

The children have been looking to Christmas to inspire their writing this week. They have written a list of what they would like using bullet points. They have also written a letter to Santa, explaining why they have been good this year and why they deserve their presents!

Delaunay Class has done so much great work around The Great Fire of London this term. This week to bring the topic to an end, we took the 3D houses we made and turned them into a smaller version of Pudding Lane. With the help of Alex, we set alight the bakery and watched as the fire spread through the houses and up towards St Paul’s Cathedral, burning to a cinder!

Please look over the sounds in your child’s homework book frequently over the holidays. It is good for retaining the learning to do a very short period (few minutes) every few days

Have a fantastic Christmas break, and a Happy New Year!
