Delaunay Class Newsletter – Friday 9th March 2018
In English this week we continued our topic on fairytales by reading Chicken Licken. We have been acting out the story and writing dialogues using question marks and exclamation marks. We have also discussed the use of rhyming words to help create new characters for the book, which we will use next week to write our own version of the story.
Our sounds of the week are ee (see) and ea (tea) and we have continued with our words of the week – where, who, what, why.
In maths we have continued counting in 2’s, 5’s and 10s, using our knowledge to explore patterns and solve simple word problems.
We have been investigating whether a seed needs light, soil and water in order to grow. We all planted our own beans- Fingers crossed that they grow!
Go on a plant hunt!
Can you find any plants or flowers that are growing in your garden or in the park? Can you name them and draw a picture?
Money count- Count all the 2ps in your purse. Can you count in 2’s? How about all the 5p and 10p coins?
Don’t forget to sign up for parents evening on either Monday 26th or Wednesday 28th March.
Have a lovely weekend
