Dali Class General Information

September 2018

Year 3 – Dali Team

Class teacher:

  • Kerensa Wall

Teaching assistants:

Year 3 (Dali) is the start of Key Stage 2 . In the Juniors, children become increasingly independent with a greater awareness of their next steps in learning. During year 3, we continue to study the core areas of maths, literacy and science. The foundation subjects eg History, Geography, RE, Art, Computing, DT, PSHE continue to be taught through topics and themes and are delivered through a skills basis.

The children will receive homework once a week, which they have plenty of time to complete, and are expected to read either independently or with a parent for 15 – 20 minutes every night. Parents are asked to ensure a suitable PE kit (shorts/leggings/tracksuit bottoms) to be kept on your child’s peg in a named bag and that book bags come in daily.

PPA Time:

Planning, preparation and assessment time for Judy will be on Thursday afternoons. Cover will be Music with James and PE with Bob Packham.

As Key Stage 2 phase leader, Judy has management time out of class on Tuesday pm. This is covered by Adelle who takes the children for PE and PSHE.

Homework:

Home work is set on Friday and is due in on Tuesday morning. There will be Spelling, Times Tables and either Maths, English or Topic.
