Hasper Class Newsletter Friday 24th February
Dear Parents and Carers,
Next Tuesday we have a trip to the British Library for workshops on story writing as part of Book Week. Children will need to bring a packed lunch and a drink – no fizzy drinks or sweets please.
On Thursday it is World Book Day and the children are invited to dress up as a character from a book. A £1 contribution to charity is requested from all those taking part. They are also free to decide how their teacher should dress too!
This week we completed our study of Varjak Paw. A large group of students and their lecturer from the Institute of Education were very impressed with the class’s engagement in our group work on the text and took away lots of ideas. Next week we begin a new book, Kindlekrax by Philip Ridley.
This week we studied decimals, finding their equivalents as improper fractions and mixed numbers as well as ensuring an understanding of place value.
