Dear Parents/ Carers

I’m sure you will all join me in thanking the HSA for funding our pantomime trip, which the children absolutely loved.

Next week, Y3 will be having a joint Christmas party to celebrate the end of the calendar year. If you would like to contribute towards this celebration could you send in your child with one item from the list below:

  • Crisps
  • Biscuits
  • Fruit
  • Cake
  • Popcorn
  • Juice

    KS2 Christmas performance

The children were amazing in their Christmas performances on Wednesday and Thursday and thank you to all the parents and guardians who came and supported them.

In their Maths lessons this week, Year 3 completed a multiplication investigation related to their prior knowledge of the 4 and 8 timetables. They had to multiply single digit numbers by two, and even three, digit numbers, explaining their answers through arrays.

This week, we finished our topic on the Iron Man by writing a final diary entry in role as Hogarth, using all of the sentence features that we have been working on over the last few weeks. We ended the week by watching the Iron Giant and comparing the film adaptation to the book.

    Design and Technology / Topic

Year 3 continued their project designing and making a replica Stone Age or Iron Age settlement. This week they painted the scenery and added details using different painting techniques they have learnt over the course of the term.

Have a lovely holiday and see you after the break,

    Jack and Adam
