Friday 6th October

Dear Parents/Carers

Our trip to Chiltern Open Air Museum is this Thursday 12th October. Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather as we shall be outside for most of the day. It is also important that they wear footwear appropriate for walking around woods and fields. Your child will also need a packed lunch and water to drink. If they suffer from travel sickness would you please let us know and medicate them as you would for travel with you.  Currently we have one parent helper but need one more. Please let us know if you are able to help. We also ask that you make your £15 contribution for the trip by Monday if possible.

The children wrote their extended stories based on our book, The Stoien Age Boy. We also worked on our spellings and handwriting as well as reading.

This week we continued to look at using the column method of addition and wrote our own addition problems based on trips to the toy shop!

We looked at muscles in the human body and made models of our arms in order to see how the muscles work in pairs.

We researched the amazing neolithic settlement of Skara Brae.

This week’s spellings are commonly misspelt words. We looked at strategies we might use to help spell them correctly but they largely need to be learnt by heart.

4x table

It is also important that the children are able to recall these 4x table facts instantly. Please practise this by playing this interactive game, Hit the Button. Select times tables button and then select x4. Try both hit the answer and hit the question options.

Write a short but fabulous description of the picture.

Enjoy your weekend
