George Ruiz - Co-opted Governor

Term of office from 18 May 2020 to 17 May 2024

I joined the Governing Body in May 2020.  I have been a resident of Crouch End for nearly thirty years and am a Chartered Accountant.  I have extensive experience in senior financial leadership positions in the not-for-profit, Retail and Financial Service sectors.  Specific areas of specialism include strategic planning, risk management and financial control.

Kylie Agbim - Parent Governor

Term of office from 30 Mar 2020 to 29 Mar 2024

I joined the governing body in February 2020 as a Parent Governor.  I sit on the Children’s Committee.  Two of my children attend the school and another is a former pupil. My background is in social policy and social work.  I project managed a neighbourhood renewal programme aimed at raising attainment and tackling social inequalities in West London.  In my spare time I enjoy tennis, cycling, singing and theatre.  I am passionate about improving opportunities for all young people.

2023-2024 responsibilities:  Vice-chair of Governing Body, Chair of Children’s Committee, Chair of Pay Committee, SEND link governor (to January), Racial Equity link governor 

 

Lisa Fowler - Co-opted Governor

Term of office from 8 Sep 2021 to 7 Sep 2025

I joined the governing body in September 2021.  My career has been in Human Resources within Financial Services, and a key part of my experience has been focussed on wellbeing initiatives. I have also always had a passion for learning and supporting others with their learning.

Cailin Murphy - Co-opted Governor

Term of office from 14 Sep 2020 to 13 Sep 2024

I joined the governing body in September 2020. My background is in analysis and strategy, and I am now a data scientist in the Civil Service.  I am passionate about educational opportunity and have experience working in the broader education sector, including at the Department for Education and at a university.

Michelle O'Brien - Co-opted Governor

Term of office from 9 Jun 2021 to 8 Jun 2025

I was an Associate Governor for nearly two years on the Pay & Resources Committee before being elected as a Parent Governor in July 2021. Two of my children attend the school; one in KS1 and one in KS2. My background is in corporate social responsibility and the charitable sector and, in particular, delivering education programmes. I am currently in a grant-making role as Head of Charitable Partnerships at a London livery company focusing on grants supporting primary age numeracy and literacy as well as the criminal justice sector. I am particularly interested in evidence-based interventions and ensuring no child’s success is limited by their socio-economic background. In my spare time I enjoy swimming at the Crouch End lido and Hampstead Heath bathing pools.

Karan Singh - Local Authority Governor

Term of office from 22 Sep 2022 to 21 Sep 2026

I was appointed as a governor in autumn 2022. It was the opportunity to support the development of local children and the community that attracted me to the governor role. Within the last year I have both moved into Crouch End and become a father. My experience is in finance, initially qualifying as a chartered accountant before spending the last 9 years working as an investment analyst and most recently as a portfolio manager in the asset management industry. When time permits, I enjoy watching and playing cricket and seeing live music.

Simone Vibert - Co-opted Governor

Term of office from 24 May 2022 to 23 May 2026

I joined the governing body in May 2022. My background is in children's policy, working across a broad range of issues. I started my career working for an autism charity and I now lead policy and research for an online safety charity. I am very proud to be working with everyone in the fantastic Weston Park community to make the school as good as it can possibly be. In my spare time I am a keen runner, cyclist and cinema-goer.

Shanaz Begum - Co-opted Governor

 

I joined the governing body in July 2023. I am a qualified primary school teacher and have also worked within the non-profit sector of corporate social responsibility. I have volunteered in several roles throughout the years, the most recent being a women’s charity that supports women from ethnic minority backgrounds. I am excited to be on this journey with Weston Park Primary and look forward to seeing the community grow.
