Weston Park Primary School

What the children wear to school

At Weston Park, the children do not wear a formal school uniform.  We expect them to wear comfortable, practical clothes and to bring a coat or jacket for outdoors.  Very short skirts, shorts and crop tops are not suitable for school.

Footwear needs to be sensible and allow the children to be able to run comfortably in the playground.  Flip flops are not suitable for school, as these pose a health and safety risk.

Please label outer garments with your child's name.

For Nursery or Reception children please send in spare clothes.

We do not allow children to wear:

Make-up or false nails, as these are not appropriate for primary aged children.  Wearing false nails prevents children from learning well - they find it difficult to hold their pen/pencil and to take part in activities, such guitar, PE, Design & Technology.

Sports kit, including football shirts, should not be worn to school.

Jewellery e.g. necklaces, bracelets, rings should not be worn to school.

If your child has pierced ears, then very simple studs may be worn.  Dangly earrings must not be worn to school, as these present a health and safety risk.

Physical Education

Children wear a green Weston Park T-shirt (available from the school office), and either shorts or jogging bottoms.  They must have trainers for PE.

If it is cold, children can wear a long sleeved T-shirt under their green Weston Park T-shirt.

The PE T-shirt is required for all children from Reception to Y6.  This can be purchased for £6.00 from the school office.

Book Bags

These may be purchased from the school office for £7.00.  Most children in the Reception, Y1 and Y2 choose to have a Weston Park book bag, but this is optional.
