Year 3 (Dali) is the start of Key Stage 2 . In the Juniors, children become increasingly independent with a greater awareness of their next steps in learning. During year 3, we continue to study the core areas of maths, literacy and science. The foundation subjects eg History, Geography, RE, Art, Computing, DT, PSHE continue to be taught through topics and themes and are delivered through a skills basis.
The children will receive homework once a week, which they have plenty of time to complete, and are expected to read either independently or with a parent for 15 – 20 minutes every night. Parents are asked to ensure a suitable PE kit (shorts/leggings/tracksuit bottoms) to be kept on your child’s peg in a named bag and that book bags come in daily.
PPA Time:
Planning, preparation and assessment time for Nicola will be on Wednesday mornings. Cover will be Music with James, Spanish with Enric and PE with Bob.
Homework:
Home work is set on Friday and is due in on Tuesday morning. There will be Spelling, Times Tables and either Maths, English or Topic.
Physical Education
P.E. will be taught on Wednesday morning by Bob and on Thursday afternoon by Nicola, in the school hall. It is essential that children have their P.E. kits in school on these days.
Timetable and Routines
Children should be in the infant playground lined up and ready at 9:00 a.m. Please remember not to enter the school building before this time.
Lunch time: 12.00 p.m – 1.00 p.m.
Break times: 10.30 a.m. – 10.50 a.m.
Afternoon break is from 2.15 p.m. – 2.30 p.m.
Singing assembly: Wednesdays at 2.30 p.m
Spanish: Wednesdays at 10.00am with Enric
